The Freeride LAB, in the Creux Noirs area, is the ultimate ski spot for freerando enthusiasts of all levels.
To start, you need to take a few steps: either by ski touring or on foot for about 600m with 100m of elevation gain, you will discover a protected site. The panorama is magnificent.
Beginners have a choice of two slopes (one red and one black) which are ungroomed, but secure. It is best to go the day after a fresh snowfall, the best time to become an all-terrain skier! Experienced skiers who are properly equipped with avalanche safety kit and accompanied by an instructor can discover a prisitne area full of fantastic slopes at the doors of the Vanoise National Park.
For even more security, a DVA-check (avalanche transceiver) has been installed at the summit: it beeps as you approach so that you know your equipment is functioning. In the mountains, safety is everyone's business. The area is also equipped with a DVA park for off-piste safety lessons at the base of the uphill track. At the start of two downhill runs, a giant picture frame has been installed so you can take a dream photo in front of the Grande Casse, the highest peak of Savoie – perfect for sharing on Instagram.
Access: Vizelle gondola, Saulire cable car and Marmottes chairlift. From the blue slope of Les Creux, turn right towards Mottaret to discover the Freeride Lab module on your left.
