Courchevel celebrates summer


A whopping 14 festive events taking place in our summer programme are sure to stir your senses. There’s music, gastronomy, shows and even workshops: so many great reasons to discover Courchevel and its rich culture.

La fête des bûcherons

The must-see event of the summer at Courchevel la Tania is the fête des Bûcherons (lumberjacks) which takes place on July 19, 2020. You’ll have an ideal opportunity to witness the most talented French and European lumberjacks displaying their skills in this impressive competition. Brilliant fun for the whole family, the event also showcases the handicrafts and traditions of Savoy. And, it all takes place in the most magnificent mountain setting.

La fête de la Madelon

The weekend of 25-26 July 2020 sees the village of Courchevel Le Praz pay homage to Sainte-Marie-Madeleine with a colourful street fair for the fête de la Madelon. Don’t miss the chance to indulge in a bowl of the town’s famous soup which is prepared in a 600-litre cauldron! There are loads of activities for all ages which will be take place around the newly improved lake. And, a superb craft market will be held in the brand-new multi-service building L’Alpinium.

More local festivals in Courchevel

This year, Courchevel goes all out with the fun and fabulous Tovets Festival held on Saturday 15th August. A packed programme includes a sale (local shops), mountain bike trial demonstration, concert plus a fantastic fireworks display for the grand finale.
The Courchevel Village festival takes place on the 22nd and 23rd August. On the programme: grand sale (local shops), artisans, flea market, traditional orchestra - and gastronomic specialties. An ideal way to spend a sunny day with friends and family.
The Savoie music festival celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. From 15th July to 19th August, you’ll have a chance to enjoy a series of classical music concerts at the Gilles de la Rocque Auditorium (Courchevel 1850). Head to the foot of the Olympic springboards in Courchevel le Praz on 22nd July to enjoy one of the highlights of the festival - a spectacular free fireworks display accompanied by the music of the Savoie orchestra.
